Albert was a Fireman with the National Fire Service, (NFS) and lived with his wife Rebecca at 88 Hindle House, Arcola Street Hackney. His personal Fireman number was B12979 and he was based at Station 30 – Bethnal Green. On October 20th 1941 he was injured at Globe Road and taken to Mile End Hospital where he died on 5th November. 327 men and women of the NFS were killed in action during the Second World War with over 3,000 badly injured. Albert is commemorated on the National Firefighters Memorial Jubilee Walkway St Pauls Churchyard London.
